February 19, 2017

Title: Tales of the Peculiar

Author: Ransom Riggs

Page Count: 160

Summary:

Before Miss Peregrine gave them a home, the story of peculiars was written in the Tales.

Wealthy cannibals who dine on the discarded limbs of peculiars. A fork-tongued princess. The origins of the first ymbryne. These are but a few of the truly brilliant and haunting stories in Tales of the Peculiar-known to hide information about the peculiar world-first introduced by Ransome Riggs in his #1 bestselling Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children series.

Riggs now invites you to share his secrets of peculiar history, with a collection of original stories in this deluxe volume of Tales of the Peculiar, as collected and annotated y Millard Nullings, ward of Miss Peregrine and scholar of all things peculiar.

Our Review:

This book was a book of tales. Yeah. That's kind of it. The stories didn't really relate to each other, which I guess you can expect from a book of tales... But... I'm the kind of girl  (yeah I hope you payed attention I just revealed my gender even though if you read the about page you would have known that!) that needs some deeper meaning. I just can't have a book of random short stories that I'm not even really drawn into. Which is why I haven't to this day finished a short story book (writing not reading). I just can never get into it. 3.5 stars because the stories were okay, but that's all they were for me.

The Bottom Line: Stories were okay, but there was no deeper meaning which I desperately wanted
